Seats

Front seats are uncomfortable and lack support when cornering, replace with seats from a better model Corsa i.e SRI/GSI seats.

Brought some Corsa Sport front seats, althought the material is not damaged the drivers bolster feels like it has collapsed.

Decided to try and repair the bolster before fitting the seats, after a bit of thinking decided to try and repair the damage to the sponge using expanding foam, its cheap and can be easily shaped/cut/sanded.

The expanding foam worked fine and the bolster feels fine in use, time will tell if it survives but I have a feeling it will be ok.

Here's the damage to the bolster

Quiet a lot of foam was squirted between the edge of the seat foam to reinforce it.

Expanding foam cut slightly lower as original foam compresses slightly when pressed down.

Update 06/10/08:
The sport seats are a massive improvement compared to the GLS seats.
Plus points:
1. They seem to absorb road shocks better so the ride feels smoother.
2. The ´bucket´ shape holds you in place when cornering.
3. Generally more comfortable.

Negative points:
1. Different trim style so the seats stand out as being different.
